Afsar Hussain Biography

My name is Afsar Hussain, I have been training in Martial arts since 2001. In this time, I have acquired black belts in a Freestyle version of kickboxing and Kung-fu while also attaining a black belt in TaeKwon Do (ITF).

Working alongside ‘New Chapter 1’, I offer general fitness and self-defence classes for women.

Training will focus on helping you with:

  • Positive mental health and wellbeing
  • Improved flexibility and conditioning
  • Fitness and strength
  • Improved self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Learning self-defence techniques

Training will always be tailored to your own fitness, and you will be offered one-to-one advice for your own ability. Beginner classes consist of, warm-ups and stretching, basic stances and footwork, fundamental punches, blocks and kicking, partnered drills and conditioning. It is
recommended you wear loose and comfortable clothing such as tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, or something similar, and comfortable footwear (preferably flat soled).

Everyone initially finds it a little scary to start – but those that start find it to be one of the most rewarding experiences in their lives.
